Doddington Hall was built between 1593 and 1600 and is a Grade I listed building. The Elizabethan mansion, which has stunning gardens that are open to the public, is located just outside of the City of Lincoln. Doddington Hall now offers a popular café, restaurant, farm shop, wedding venue and event facilities as well as five acres of wild gardens. Parts of the Hall itself are also open to the public and the entire complex is a hugely popular tourist attraction.
Bluecube were initially approached with the task of improving the internet connection speeds across the site and installing a new voice system.
After a review of potential suppliers, Bluecube were selected as the new communications partner for Doddington Farms LLP. It was agreed that Bluecube would provide and manage both the internet and voice services across the organisation. Bluecube’s provisioning team worked closely with the client’s existing IT partner to ensure a smooth transfer of services. Two FTTC broadband lines were transferred and upgraded from the old provider; one to support the online requirements of the business and the other for the public Wi-Fi network.
The driving issue for change and eventually using Bluecube was that the existing phone system was fast becoming obsolete. The digital system needed replacing with something that could grow with the business and provide the level of functionality that they now required. Due to the rapid growth of services Doddington Hall now offered, the business had outgrown the old system and it simply was no longer fit for purpose.
After an initial site survey and a requirement review, Silverline (Bluecube’s hosted voice solution) was selected as the best way forward as Silverline provided all of the features and scalability required. Yealink T42 Gigabit IP handsets were deployed across the site. A full day professional installation was carried out across site and each user had a private voicemail service activated, call forward capabilities and call conferencing services. Bespoke call bundles were also provided to reduce UK call charges. Unity Call Control software was deployed onto every PC, providing real time user presence and call statistics across the Doddington Hall site.
Bluecube has seen a huge shift in hosted and cloud based services over the last couple of years, this is largely due to the availability of superfast FTTC internet services. This superfast and affordable broadband service provides the perfect platform for IP voice services. BT have announced their intention to switch off the ISDN (digital) network by 2025 meaning that businesses using ISDN2 and ISDN30 services are having to look at next generation comms for the future. Silverline from Bluecube is the perfect solution for any small, medium or large enterprise looking for a safe and cost effective alternative voice solution.
